We collect the following personal information:

• For Mentees: Name, email address (.edu), major, graduation year, student type, LinkedIn profile (optional)
• For Mentors: Name, company email address, company name, years of experience, specialization, alma mater (optional), LinkedIn profile (optional), Calendly URL (optional)

2.2 Usage Information

We automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with our Service, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on pages.

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Facilitate connections between mentees and mentors
• Send email notifications about mentorship requests and meeting updates
• Verify your email domain for account creation
• Improve and optimize our Service
• Communicate with you about updates and changes to the Service
• Ensure the security and integrity of our platform

We share your information in the following circumstances:

• With Other Users: Mentors can view mentee profiles when they receive mentorship requests. Mentees can view mentor profiles in our directory.
• Service Providers: We use third-party services (Supabase for database, Resend for emails) that may access your data to provide services on our behalf.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We verify email addresses during registration to ensure the authenticity of user accounts. Mentees must use .edu email addresses, and mentors must use verified company email addresses.

You have the right to:

• Access and update your personal information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt-out of certain communications
• Request a copy of your data

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Our Service is intended for college students and working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18 years of age.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through a notice on our Service.
